LONG-TERM QUALITY STRATEGY

Ashok Thakkar, President and CEO of ITTI, LLC was one of the pioneers in developing a five-year Quality Strategy back in 1987. His document impressed Dr. Deming, who had invited him to speak on the subject in 1990 in Minneapolis, MN.

Long-term quality strategies are more suitable for multi-plant (or multi-division), medium to large corporations. The strategy includes a comprehensive approach to all aspects of operations management including HR, Manufacturing, Quality Management System (per ISO 9001), Design and Development, Supply Chain Management, Process Control, and so on. The return on investment usually runs into multi-million dollars.
